Zain, Jordan, and Rick are throwing their first installment of the Space Temple event series in Victoria on January 19, 2023.

What is Space Temple?

Think interstellar melodic soundscapes curated to take you deep into sound, movement and yourself. The culture is intended to be interwoven with each person in attendance, offering a container for conscious journeying and connection.

We will be playing a variety of sounds to nourish your soul. Our lineup of DJs will take you on a journey through the cutting-edge sounds of house and techno, blending intricate melodies with driving basslines and complex percussion patterns. From the deep, hypnotic grooves of minimal deep house to the relentless energy of psychedelic techno, these three cosmic weavers will keep you engaged till the early morning.

This unique experience is an invitation to co-create space with somatic intentionality, offering our presence to paint the evening with etheric uniqueness. A multi-sensory, deep investigation into the body, releasing you into the cosmic abyss of possibility

Intergalactic, celestial, or astral attire is encouraged, although not mandatory. An opportunity to furnish the occasion with your soul nature.

This is a dive into the depths of your body through soundscapes tailored for you to collectively explore your existence and whether you are a seasoned attendee or a newcomer to the scene, our event is the perfect place to let loose and get transported by the vibe.

Meet Your DJ's & Co Pilots

RVH

Ironic Spin

For two decades, RVH has immersed himself in the dancefloors and festivals of Ontario, BC, and the US. In 2017, he transitioned from attendee to a dedicated contributor. Venturing into production, RVH is captivated by the layering of soundscapes that connect deeply with the body and spirit.

RVH’s sonic palette is a testament to his diverse influences, drawing inspiration from a rich tapestry of artists, producers, and styles. His musical tastes traverse the minimal realms of house and techno, where the essence of each beat is distilled to its purest form. Yet, RVH’s selections go beyond convention, as he finds himself captivated by the fusion of driving percussion and compositional synthesis that defines genres like afro house, melodic deep house, and techno.

RVH’s sets are more than tracks strewn together, they’re journeys, inviting listeners to explore the profound connection between music, movement and emotion.

Joca

3rd Avenue

For over 20 years, Jordan Caron has always tried to share his feelings and emotions through music. What he hasn’t been able to convey in words, he’s told in the music he mixes. He wants to capture you through music and connect to your heart and soul.

Each one of his mixes and live sets is meticulously curated to share what emotions he’s feeling at the time. He wants listeners to connect deeper with him through music and sharing what’s present for him as he does with his Chasing The Vibe mixes. Behind each artist is a person, and he wants you to honestly know his struggles and triumphs.

What music exactly does he mix? That’s a loaded question! There are too many subgenres of genres. The constants are groovy 4 X 4 basslines, intricately layered beneath profound, euphoric, and uplifting melodies. Joca’s ambition extends beyond mere music mixes; he seeks to shepherd you on a spiritual odyssey within yourself. Be it on the dance floor or within the confines of your home, streaming one of his mixes — he implores you to release it all, surrendering to the rhythmic catharsis.

Moon Bodega

moon-bodega

“Delicately engineered to activate the lightness and darkness in the muladhara, bless your wounds; that’s how the light gets in.”

Zain Burgess, aka Moon Bodega, has been DJ’ing for two decades. He saved up his earnings from A&W at that tender age of 16 to afford a mixer and two turntables. He’s been obsessed and involved in the culture ever since.

He’s relentlessly curious about up-and-coming sounds from different areas of the world and combining them with samples and sounds from the past. He will take you into the depths of your body and drive you into a hypnotic, somatic exploration of your body. Now combining his love of somatic therapy, he infuses the two to help move stuck emotions on the dance-floor. Energy transmutation. The epic flight of sonic storytelling.

Space Temple Etiquette

Space Temple was born to cultivate connection, curiosity, and conscious containment for somatic journeying and dance. We are deliberately weaving sound to create a sonic haven for you to discover deeper layers of yourself in proximity to the collective.

Radical Inclusion: Anyone may be a part of Space Temple. We welcome and respect all. No prerequisites exist for participation in our community. We ask that you carefully explore your edges and be clear about personal boundaries. Communicate your needs.

Radical Self-reliance: Space Temple encourages the voyager to discover, exercise, and rely on their inner resources. Know your limits and explore agency; ask for support if you are in need.

Respect Personal Space: Be aware of your body in space. Be mindful on the dance floor. We want to create a safe space for travellers to let go and go inward.

Presence: Present, immediate experience is, in many ways, the most important value in our culture. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, the reality of those around us, and participation in society. No idea can substitute for this experience. You are co-creating culture; bring awareness to your offering.
